Our Favorite Spots in Rome

Restaurants

You can't go wrong with the food anywhere in Italy, obviously. There are staple pasta dishes in Rome that you will get a taste of in every restaurant. Cacio e Pepe (cheese & black pepper), Carbonara (add egg & pancetta), and Amatriciana (add tomato sauce). They're amazing. Below are some options for the classics, as well as other options when you want to be a bit more adventurous!

SantoPalato - a bit outside of the city center but a fantastic restaurant. The food is phenomenal and the dishes are fresh, modern takes of Italian cuisine. The wine list is extensive and the design of this place is fun as well. A favorite of ours.

Luciano - perhaps the best carbonara in Rome? In the world? This restaurant was opened by star-chef Luciano Monosilio and you'll see him cooking in the back. He won a Michelin star when he was 27 years old and brought his signature Carbonara to this restaurant. But everything on the menu is fantastic... try to eat it all!

Roscioli - an absolute classic. They have a few different locations: the forno (pastries and breads), salumeria (meats and cheese), & rimessa (wine bar). The salumeria is an experience and worth going to. We tend to stick to the charcuterie and appetizers here. If you want more of a meal, go to their Roscioli Rimessa. They have an extensive wine list and very good meals.
